MPA AGM
Location: Alliance Boardroom, Copyright House, Berners St, London, W1
Date: Tuesday 24 June 2008 at 13:30:00
There are three phases to the day's events:
Phase 1: 14.00 to 15.00
Formal Business of the AGM
Including presentations from Mr Steve Porter of the MCPS/PRS Alliance and Mr Feargal Sharkey of British Music Rights.
Phase 2: 15.15 to 17.45
Playing Out the Future - Beyond Tomorrow’s Headlines
Three panels of experts, representing rights holders, users, and opinion formers, will debate a number of hypothetical scenarios, and in so doing explore future directions for the music industry. An analyst and a journalist will inform and refract the discussions.
The shape of the event will be somewhere between a panel show and a televised debate – think Have I Got News For You crossed with Newsnight. The moderator has a key role interacting with the panels, inviting expert commentary from the analyst, and then triggering the scenario shift to move the debate on. The audience will be invited to participate.
Phase 3: 17.45 to 20.00
Drinks
For those of you who have worked with Mr Paul Curran, past Chairman of the MPA, we would like you to join us for a farewell drink at Jamie’s Bar, 74 Charlotte Street, W1.
