Hours: Full time, for an initial period of 2 months

Description:

The successful candidate will administer aspects of the MPA’s activities in support of printed music publishers.

MPA Catalogue of Printed Music
• Administer all aspects of the MPA Catalogue including maintenance of the database and processing of payments
• Liaise with subscribers and publishers

ISMNs
• Process all applications and payments, and issue invoices
• Generate files of ISMNs and support information for publishers on initial application and as and when needed
• Receive and process ISMN information / MPA spreadsheet templates received from publishers in preparation for import into the MPA Catalogue
• Provide technical information and advice to publishers on the ISMN and barcode
• Liaise with and provide statistical data to the International ISMN Agency
• In conjunction with the Chief Executive, receive and approve invoice(s) from the International ISMN Agency and process payment for the annual membership fee

Awards & Events
• Support the Assistant Chief Executive in the development and administration of the annual MIA Awards for Printed Music Publishing and MPA participation in relevant UK and international tradeshows

Printed music enquiries
• Answer the Printed Music Premium Line and respond to enquiries
• Deal with all printed music enquiries received via email
• Administrate all aspects relating to the operation of the joint JCQ/MPA and joint CIE/MPA agreements

Printed Music Publishers Committee
• Attend all meetings of the PMPC
• Take and prepare minutes
• Follow up action points in liaison with the Assistant Chief Executive

Other
• Provide support to the Chief Executive, Assistant Chief Executive and other staff as necessary in this small office
• Take an interest in what the MPA is doing for its members and keep abreast of developments as much as possible
• Attend staff meetings and other meetings and events as required
• Assist as directed with all MPA events

Required Skills:

The ideal candidate will be:
• musically literate
• knowledgeable about/interested in a wide variety of music - a good knowledge of classical music would be advantageous
• IT literate
• highly organised and able to demonstrate meticulous attention to detail
• in possession of an excellent phone manner
