Careers within the MPA

As we have a fairly small number of staff at the MPA, job opportunities arise relatively infrequently. When we do have positions to fill we tend to advertise the roles in the press and our own online job vacancies list.

Here you can find job vacancies with MPA member music publishers. Aside from when the MPA ourselves advertise vacancies on this page (which will only happen very occasionally), please do not get in touch with the MPA about any of the positions advertised, but instead use the contact details found within each advertisement.

Other Job Seeking Ideas

Looking at our job vacancies page is just one good way of finding work in music publishing. Keep your eyes peeled for job opportunities in the press. The Guardian has a good media jobs section every Monday, in addition to an online jobsearch. The music industry weekly, Music Week, also has a jobs section towards the back of each issue.

You may want to register with a few employment agencies. Some specialise in music and media based jobs. Generally they're free and can lead to many opportunities. Once you've signed up with them make sure you do keep in touch with them, just to keep your name on their minds!

Aside from that, you may want to contact some of the music publishers directly and ask if they have any vacancies. Some of the larger companies will have specific Human Resources departments. You can find a list of contact details for music publishers by clicking here.
